Spiritwood
A downloadable game
Story
You play as a hunter attempting to revitalize their town/village after it was abandoned out of nowhere by their support system. You also make it your goal to discover why exactly the supply lines were cut off.
This demo does not explore the story but allows you to engage in the dangerous parts of the world.
Gameplay
You can shoot, recall arrows, dash, and reflect. You must choose which action fits best against the enemies you are facing, as taking the wrong action will be punished.
- The Bow: you can charge up your bow to shoot. Charging increases the arrows’ range and damage.
- Default keybind: Mouse 1
- After shooting, you must pick up or recall your arrows to maintain ammo.
- Default keybind: R
- Dashing: Dashing can create some distance against enemies, being a reliable way to mitigate damage.
- Default keybind: Space
- Reflecting: Reflecting is the main defence to get an advantage over ranged enemies as if timed well, it will reflect any projectiles back to them. Reflect cannot be used to defend against physical melee attacks. Reflecting is also the main way to recover health, as every successful reflect builds up the regen meter, and health is restored upon completely filling the meter.
- Default keybind: Mouse 2
Items and Upgrades
Enemies drop items upon defeat, which can be exchanged for gold in town. However, items are lost upon death, though gold and upgrades are not.
- The shop: The town's shopkeeper will buy your looted items for gold. Upgrades are sold here in exchange for gold, offering both defensive and offensive improvements for you.
- Return to town: while this is not available at the start, you can return to town while in the dungeon to prevent the loss of your looted items.
- Default keybind: B
